Our Climate
A Four Season Climate
Nova Scotia is almost entirely surrounded by water creating a temperate climate with four distinct seasons: spring, summer, autumn and winter.
Winters are moderately cold with temperatures ranging from a low of -4ºC to 10ºC. Our winters can give us a mix of snow, freezing rain, hail and crisp sunshine.
Spring temperatures range from 6ºC in early April to up to 20ºC in mid-June.
Summers are very pleasant with temperatures that are warm, but rarely too hot – from 18ºC to 25ºC and very occasionally reaching 30º.
Autumns in Nova Scotia are known for their beauty as the trees turn from green into gold, orange, red and amber. Temperatures stay mild– from 20ºC in September to 6ºC in early November.
Four Spectacular Seasons
We have four distinct seasons, each one a gem in its own right. From brilliant green springs to warm summers, the magnificent colours of fall foliage to brisk winter snows, our moderate climate is one of our greatest charms.
