Community Diversity and Integration Symposium

May 12 – Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21, Halifax

We want to start a conversation about building an integrated community here in Halifax, but we want to let you take the reins!

What are your thoughts and ideas about creating a diverse and integrated Halifax? What is your vision for our community? What has your experience been living in this city?

Whether you are a long-time resident of this province or brand new to the community, your perspectives are welcomed and valued in this forum.

Join us for a half-day Community Diversity and Integration Symposium on Saturday, May 12 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21 to share your thoughts and discuss topics such as these.

The symposium’s overarching theme of community diversity and integration will guide a number of smaller facilitated roundtable conversations. Aside from this central topic, the agenda is not set – that’s where you come in!

You decide what’s important to discuss. Roundtable conversations will be hosted in both English and French. Some ideas to get you thinking include:

Our objective for the day is to get the conversation started! Where you go and what you accomplish from here is really up to you – the sky is the limit. We want to create a space for people to come together to learn from one another and share stories about building connections. We want to foster the creation of new ideas and spark an interest in continuing the conversation.

Pre-registration for the Community Diversity and Integration Symposium is required. Please contact Jack Potter by email at jpotter@isisns.ca or by phone at (902)406-8648 to register. This event is free and open to the public.

The Community Diversity and Integration Symposium is presented in partnership with the Community Integration Network and the Canadian Museum of Immigration at Pier 21.
