About Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia’s economy has been growing steadily over the past few years and smaller businesses have played a major role in this growth. In December 2005, 91.9% of companies had fewer than 20 employees.
Canada leads the G7 countries in low business costs and four centres in Nova Scotia are ranked among the top 10 in the country. Nova Scotia’s capital, Halifax, ranks among the top five when compared to large international centres in North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.
Throughout our history, immigrants have chosen Nova Scotia for its promise of a better life, and for its tradition of honouring hard work and human values. They chose it as a place where they could re-invent themselves and provide for their families. Immigrants today still choose Nova Scotia for these reasons.
